Phil Salt gave the Kolkata Knight Riders a tremendous start earlier in the game, and then the Andre Russell show came to town. Salt struck a hat-trick of sixes in the second over to give the hosts a flying start. After losing four wickets in the first ten overs, KKR was left in a state of confusion. Heinrich Klaasen and Shahbaz Ahmed forced the Kolkata Knight Riders to chase 209 at Eden Gardens, which Sunrisers Hyderabad made seem easy. With 58 runs in 16 balls, especially in the 18th and 19th overs, the pair suddenly turned the tables on KKR. With SRH needing 13 runs to win off the final over and Klaasen hitting a six off the first ball, Harshit Rana, however, removed the South African and Shahbaz and conceded just two runs in the last over. KKR ultimately won by a score of four runs.
